Winter can be really tough in the Midwest. Freezing temps and less daylight hours sometimes make hibernating in bed seem like the only (or at least the best) option. It is so easy to find things to do in the summer- fairs, festivals, concerts, laying on a beach, hiking, swimming, etc. But when winter comes around, suddenly it feels like Netflix is the only thing that exists. Today, I'm giving you some ideas of what you can do to defeat the cold-weather blues!
Don't let the title fool you. I have not, in fact, mastered adulthood. I mean, does anybody ever really master it?!? No, I am still on the beginner level of adulthood. I'm at the point where I just got done with the free trial and now I'm a fully subscribed member. But like one of those free trials that ends, but you forget to cancel it so then they charge your card and you might as well just use it since you paid anyways. So basically, I'm an accidental adult.
Happy New Year!! I love the fresh start a new year brings. It's a natural time for reflection, evaluation, and planning, and as a Type A personality, I love it. I've spent the last week looking back at 2017- everything I did and accomplished and how I measured up to my theme for the year- and looking forward to 2018. And you guys, I have a really great feeling about 2018.
At the end of every year, I always marvel at how fast a year goes by, yet how far away the beginning of that year seems. 2017 was no different. At the beginning of the year, I hadn't even started this blog yet (although it was definitely in the works)! Before I move on to my goals and dreams for 2018, I want to take some time to reflect on the year that has passed.
Now that Thanksgiving has been celebrated with merriment, cheer, and overindulgence (hopefully that last one wasn't just me...), my best self has emerged. Because, while I believe the "holiday season" starts September 1st, to everyone else, it has finally arrived! The Christmas season is my absolute favorite time of year for so many reasons. Everything feels a little bit magical and a lot more joyful
Welcome to the new and improved abbyrasmussen.com! I'm so excited to finally reveal the changes I've been working on with you all. Around my eighth month of blogging, I felt ready for a change. You see, when I first launched my blog, I jumped in pretty fast. I knew that if I spent too much time deciding on the template, fonts, colors, etc. I would never get started at all. So I made some swift decisions that worked temporarily, but I knew I'd eventually want to change.
