Can someone please call Summer and tell it to slow down?!? I can't believe we're already halfway through July! I'm trying to take advantage of every weekend to cram in as many summer activities as possible. This past weekend I enjoyed lots of theater! Friday night I went to a community theater production, and then on Saturday I took a little trip with two friends from work to Chicago to see Aladdin. I also got to meet up with a childhood friend who lives there who was able to join us for dinner before the show. It was a truly wonderful evening and a fabulous weekend and I wish every night I could go to see a show, honestly.
Because summer flies by so quickly, there is a small window where I like to wear bright colors, like this pink skirt. Although I still wear black and gray a lot (as I do in the winter), once in awhile it's nice to brighten things up. How can you not be happy wearing a bright pink skirt that not only has pockets, but also has the coveted twirl factor?? You know, for all those times I go twirling down the hallway at work.
Huge thanks to my beautiful mother for taking these photos for me. She inspired the poses below because she told me I looked like Liesel from the Sound of Music. And then "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" was stuck in our heads for the rest of the week. Thanks, Mom :)
