travel: palm coast, florida
As I write this, my suitcase remains partially packed because I can't seem to face the fact that my vacation is over. But I am so, so happy. This past weekend was absolutely perfect, with everything needed for a relaxing vacation. It is a very happy coincidence that my sister and her family live in Florida, just minutes from the ocean, because it makes it easy for a simple visit to turn into a full-fledged vacation!
Since my sister had a baby just barely a month ago, we didn't spend a ton of time on excursions and that was more than okay with me! Since I come from such a big family, it can be tough to get in one-on-one time with anyone. I love being able to spend time with my niece and nephews and even snuck in some quality time with my sister. We spent most of each day hanging around their house, doing puzzles, having dance parties, building forts, having a girls' spa morning, overwhelming the new baby with attention and kisses, and binge-watching the newest season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt after the kids went to bed.
Some other things we did: enjoyed the hot Florida sun at Ormond Beach, sipped on margaritas overlooking the ocean at The Golden Lion, and attempted to explore European Village (we hadn't realized everything would be closed because of Memorial Day- but I could see how charming it would be if everything was open!)
P.S. Check out my sister's blog here!
