Now that Thanksgiving has been celebrated with merriment, cheer, and overindulgence (hopefully that last one wasn't just me...), my best self has emerged. Because, while I believe the "holiday season" starts September 1st, to everyone else, it has finally arrived! The Christmas season is my absolute favorite time of year for so many reasons. Everything feels a little bit magical and a lot more joyful. For example, as I write this on what is normally an ordinary Monday night, the room is lit by only the glow of lights from my Christmas tree. I have the Christmas Peaceful Piano playlist playing on Spotify. And I can feel my heart swell as I think of everything that this season was, is, and will always be to me. Family, friends, laughter, singing, peace, joy, and so, so much love. Have I convinced you yet that I am my best self right now?? (If it helps, I am also wearing a giant red Christmas sweater with a very elaborate ice skating scene on it. And glitter. Lots of glitter.)
Anyways, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Throughout the years, my family's Thanksgiving plans and traditions have changed to accommodate our life circumstances. Unfortunately, not all of my sisters were able to be home for this holiday (we missed you, Annie and Emily!!). Thank goodness for FaceTime! Those of us who were home enjoyed lots and lots of great food, some family board games, and just generally hanging out. I hope you were able to enjoy some of the same! I'm so excited to share my holiday season this year with you all. Wherever you are and whoever you are with, I hope that you find the joy and love this season brings.
How was your Thanksgiving? What do you love most about the holiday season? As always, thanks for stopping by!
