Since we are already into August, I thought this would be a good time to check in on my New Year's theme. (Confession: I actually started writing this post in mid-July, which made more sense, but didn't get back around to it until now). The theme I chose for 2018 is CHOOSE THE BIGGER LIFE. For an in-depth explanation of my theme, see my original post here.
I feel that so far this year I have done a pretty good job of choosing the bigger life. Of course, any year that I take a ten day trip to Europe will certainly feel like a bigger life. Some other (smaller) ways that I've been choosing the bigger life include being willing to be social on weeknights, planning my weekends ahead of time (instead of waiting until it's too late and I'm left with nothing to do), and saying yes to more time for hobbies (i.e. more shows and more choreographing!).
The other part of my theme that I wanted to work on was being more intentional. Since about April, I've struggled with maintaining some of my smaller goals and habits. I found that when my daily routine changed, it was harder to focus on those goals. Between losing my old job, two separate vacations, starting a new job, and two shows, it's been challenging to find a sense of normalcy. Now that I've settled more into my new job and don't have any vacations on the horizon, I'm hoping to get back on track with better habits.
How are you doing with your New Year's resolution/goals/theme?
