Labor Day has come and gone, the morning air has become brisk, and school is back in session (at least I hear it is). FALL IS HERE, PEOPLE, and I am very happy about it. That being said, I had a wonderful summer and I will miss the warm weather and weekend adventures! Before I jump into all things fall, I wanted to do a little recap of my summer. This was my first summer working full time, so I tried to be very intentional about making the most of my weekends. Looking back, I think I filled it with plenty of adventures, big and small. I think that's why I'm okay with the arrival of fall- I don't feel panicky about trying to fit in last-minute summer activities!
I kicked off the summer with a trip to visit my sister and her family in Florida over Memorial Day weekend. You can read more about my trip here. One cannot go wrong with margaritas overlooking the beach in Florida!
Summer always means enjoying happy hour on a patio as often as possible! Best when accompanied by a good friend and a beautiful view.
Milwaukee has so much to offer in the summer, especially when it comes to festivals. One Friday night, my friend Emily and I made a last-minute decision to check out the Lakefront Festival of Art and we were not disappointed! We only wished we had gone earlier in the night :)
At the beginning of July, my entire family got together for a "staycation". You can read more about what we did here. Highlights included a Brewers game and keeping July 4th traditions!
For awhile, it felt like I was going to shows every weekend, which was amazing. They were mostly community theater performances, but I also got to head to Chicago with two friends to see Aladdin! We had a blast and the show was incredible!
And of course, no summer is complete without a few trips to a farmer's market and nights at the UW-Madison Memorial Union Terrace.
What were the highlights of your summer? Are you looking forward to fall or hanging on to every last bit of the summer season?
