Happy Friday!! Nothing gets me pumped quite like jamming out during my Friday commute. Because in a mere matter of hours, it's the weekend! I'm always amazed at how much a song can affect my mood, or conversely, how my mood affects my music choices. I listen to a variety of genres- pop, jazz, musical theater, country- so I like to mix it up a lot. Today, I thought it would be fun to share my favorite songs for different occasions and moods. In a few cases, I couldn't pick just one :)

My favorite song(s) to listen to...

Always (a.k.a. my favorite song of all time): "Everything" (Michael Bublé)

To turn my day around: "Annalee" (Gavin DeGraw), "This Is the New Year" (A Great Big World)

Hanging out with girlfriends: "Wannabe" (Spice Girls)

For a roadtrip: "Favorite State of Mind" (Josh Gracin)

To dance to: "Shut Up and Dance" (Walk the Moon)

To boost my confidence: "This One's for the Girls" (Martina McBride), "She Sets the City on Fire" (Gavin DeGraw), "Wonder" (Emeli Sandé)

About love (also my favorite to listen to when doing chores): "Thinking Out Loud" (Ed Sheeran), "God Only Knows" (originally Beach Boys, but I love Michael Bublé's version), "You and I" (Michael Bublé), "Can't Help Falling In Love" (Ingrid Michaelson's version)

For a good cry: "Manhattan" (Sara Bareilles), "Fix You" (Coldplay)

For working out: "Break a Sweat" (Becky G)

To belt in the car (or musical theater classics): "Seasons of Love" (from Rent), "Defying Gravity" (from Wicked), "Journey to the Past" (from Anastasia)

What are some of your favorite songs in these genres or moods? Let me know in the comments- I'm always looking for new music!
