Last weekend, my entire immediate family gathered for a "staycation" in Milwaukee. That's 12 adults and 4 kids (and occasionally some dogs), which is basically a three-ring circus. It's rare that we get to all be together, so I wanted to soak in every possible moment, hence the radio silence!
We had each "family" plan a day and the three youngest of us (who are not yet married) also planned a day. Everyone included a good mix of activities and allowing time for us to just relax and hang out together.
Day 1- Hiking, pool time, and "The Great Rasmussen Bake-Off" (a twist on the show Chopped)
Day 2- Church, a picnic/kickball game that was ruined by pouring rain, an impromptu walk along Lake Drive, and Family Jeopardy (a game we made up a few years ago, obviously based on Jeopardy, where we ask each other trivia about ourselves)
Day 3- Brewer's game complete w/tailgating, then a relaxing night at home
Day 4- Fourth of July parade, grilling out, more pool time, and fireworks
Day 5- Family Olympics (can you tell we like to compete??) including an obstacle course, water balloon toss, and frisbee golf, among other activites; the boys went golfing/girls intended to go to Cedarburg for the day, but ended up just staying home; and a dinner out at Cafe Hollander to end the staycation
